UNN, ATBU Gets New Pro-Chancellors!

The University Of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN and the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, ATBU now have new Chairman of governing council, after declaration by the Federal Government on Thursday.

The Federal Government has approved the appointment of Alhaji Yerima Abdulahi as the Pro Chancellor/Chairman of the Governing Council of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. He replaces Prof. Ango Abdulahi.

In a related development, the Federal Government also approved the appointment of Mr Emmanuel Chukwuka Ukala (SAN) as the Pro-Chancellor/Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He replaces Dr Emeka Enejere who was controversially removed by the government after the resolution of the strike by University lecturers. All Unions of the University on Wednesday, and Thursday protested the pro-chancellors removal.

The Supervising Minister of Education, Chief (Barr.) Ezenwo Nyesom Wike who made the announcement on Thursday, said that the appointments take immediate effect.
