Dr Nasir I. Fagge, the National
President of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), said the
security challenges Nigeria can be attributed to the inability of
government to provide responsible leadership and quality education for
the citizenry.
The ASUU President said; “We believe
that the Nigerian people are not being presented with sufficient options
to choose from. The same crops of leaders have been recycling
themselves from one party to another, scrambling for power. We cannot
keep doing the same thing and expect different result. The ruling elites
have systematically edged out the people from governance equation.’’
While lamenting the level of corruption
in the nation, Fagge said the present crops of leaders has continued to
milk the nation dry under the guise of privatisation.
