UNICAL Lecturer Shot In His Office By Students Is Dead

                                 

A lecturer was shot in his office two weeks ago by students in University of Calabar, UNICAL. Well, the lecturer, Dr Iwatt has died from injuries sustained in the attack after medical reports showed he was hit in his left thoracic cavity.

This sad news is coming just days after he was said to be responding to treatment at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH). The entire university community have been thrown into mourning as fellow staff and students alike were shocked at the development.

The late Dr Iwatt taught Virology and Microbial Ecology in the institution and was described as “too strict” as he was recently appointed the University’s Examination Officer. Before the incident, it was gathered that Iwatt received several threat messages from unidentified persons.
