Students (NANS), Ogun State chapter held a protest on Wednesday over the
school fees hike in Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife calling
the Ogun state government to intervene in the issue. Continue...
The NANS leader in Ogun State, Falola
Ahmed said that the current school fees in OAU is outrageous and
illogical for government to be charging students hundreds of thousands
for tuition.
NANS mobilized hundreds of students who
stormed the Governor’s office to register their displeasure on how the
government is taking education in the country.
They called on the governor, Senator
Ibikunle Amosun to come to intervene in the issue as they wondered why
those that benefited from Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s free education policy
would turn around to implement anti-students policy.
Responding, the Ogun State SSG, Taiwo
Adeoluwa, called on the students to remain calm as the governor is
working on how to resolve the school fees crises promising the students
that their concerns will be addressed.
