UNN Gets New VC, Prof B C Ozumba

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka UNN has got a new Vice-Chancellor in the person of Professor Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba, a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He will replace the outgoing VC, Prof. Bartho Okolo whose tenure has expired after five years in office.

Prof. B.C. Ozumba attended Government College, Umuahia, before proceeding to the University of Lagos, UNILAG, where he studied medicine. After joining the services of the university, Ozumba rose rapidly and was elevated to the academic status of Professor after seven years of teaching.

The new VC served as Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, UNN, before he was subsequently appointed Provost of the UNN College of Medicine between 2004 to 2008. He hails from Anambra State.
