Federal Government have denied rumours that it was planning to re-name
the University of Ibadan after the late Professor Dora Akunyili who was
the former NAFDAC boss and Minister of Information.

The media aide to the President, Dr. Reuben Abati urged members of the public to ignore what he described as fake news. Abati said, “Nobody ever said Mr. President is considering naming University of Ibadan after Late Professor Dora Akunyili.
He said
that the only statement from the president is just the official
statement conveying President Jonathan’s heartfelt condolences to the
family.
