UNIABUJA ASUU Strike: Students Stage Protest

The students of the University of Abuja UNIABUJA has protested what they described as the insensitivity to the plight of students by the management of the school as the UNIABUJA ASUU Strike goes on. The students of the school are protesting the strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities UNIABUJA ASUU chapter over accusations of mismanagement against the Vice Chancellor of the school.

Students locked the University’s main gate as early as 8.00am on Thursday, preventing movement of people in and out of the campus. It took the efforts of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. James Adelabu, to calm the situation and he assured the protesting students that everything would be done to resolve the situation. He advised them to be orderly.

Meanwhile, the VC had earlier denied owing the lecturers any money saying all the allegations of UNIABUJA ASUU are false but the ASUU Chairman, Ben Ugheoke reacted to this by saying the VC is lying.
